This area will give you all the information you need as a parent or carer of a child starting with us in September 2026.
We hope it gives you a guide and insight into our classes and what you and your child can expect when they start school.

Parents Presentation
To support the transition into school we are having a ‘September 2026 parent’s presentation’. At this meeting you will be told all the information you need for being prepared for your child starting with us in September.
The meeting will be held towards the end of the academic year of 2026.
Key Dates for New Starters
To support the transition into school we are having a ‘September 2026 parent’s presentation’. At this meeting you will be told all the information you need for being prepared for your child starting with us in September.
We are delighted to welcome your child to Clarendon Infant School. To help the children settle confidently into their new environment, we have planned a transition period during the first two weeks of term.
Week 1
Wednesday 2nd September – Friday 4th September (3-day week)
Children will attend a shortened session from 9:00am until 11:30am. On arrival, a member of staff will greet you and your child at the red top gate (by the school office) and accompany them to the classroom. The Red Gate will open at 11:30am for collection. Please note that children will not stay for lunch during these sessions.
Home Visits in week 1
Home visits will take place from 12:30pm onwards. Please refer to the Home Visit Letter included in your child's welcome pack for your allocated date and time. These visits provide a valuable opportunity for us to get to know your child in a familiar environment and begin building positive relationships before they start school.
Week 2
Monday 7th September – Tuesday 8th September (2 days of Week 2)
Children will attend from 8:40am until 1:15pm. During these two days, your child will stay for lunch, giving them the opportunity to become familiar with our lunchtime routines. School dinners will be available, or your child may bring a packed lunch from home. The Red Gate will open at 1.15pm for collection.
Wednesday 9th September onwards (3 days of Week 2)
From Wednesday 9th September, children will attend from 8:40am until 3:15pm and will begin following their normal school day routine.
We understand that every child settles into a new environment at their own pace. If you have any concerns about your child's transition or feel they may benefit from additional support, please do not hesitate to speak with us.
